High School

It’s official! We have chosen a project for the 2019-2020 school year. In previous years, we have focused on the city of Golconda and the village of Eddyville. This year, the freshmen and seniors have decided to work within the one place that unifies our entire county, Pope County High School.

After team brainstorming sessions and a lengthy selection process, we chose to make aesthetic improvements to PCHS to modernize parts of our historical building. We have a long list of goals, but our top 3 priorities include
1) designing/installing a new exterior PCHS sign to cover the painted brick that names our school
2) wiring in a marquee inside the gym lobby that will scroll info on school activities, snack shack options, etc.
3) replacing the gym signs that say “Pope County” and “Pirates” with modern signs/banners to give the gym a whole new look.

Depending upon sponsorships, we may be able to complete more goals on our list. We are very excited to join together with the community to transform our dreams into reality. Please stay tuned for how to become a sponsor for this HH project.
As always, go pirates! 🏴‍☠️
